About Portia: Portia Anderson, MPH, BSN, RN is the Director of Quality Improvement & Nursing at Broward Community & Family Health Centers (BCOM Health), bringing decades of healthcare leadership experience. She guides quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives across clinical, dental, and behavioral health services—ensuring safety, compliance, and excellence in patient care. Portia earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Florida Atlantic University and a Master of Public Health degree from Nova Southeastern University. Before joining BCOM Health in January, 2022, she served in healthcare leadership roles including Nurse Manager and Director of Healthcare for the Homeless Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) Program.  In these roles, she honed her skills in community-based health care, process improvement, and team development. Known for her strategic, yet collaborative leadership style, Portia implements data-driven quality protocols, staff training, and continuous monitoring to elevate care standards. She partners with clinical, operations, and executive management teams to embed best practices and drive measurable outcomes. With a deep commitment to both clinical excellence and community well-being, Portia plays a key role in ensuring that BCOM Health achieves it’s mission of delivering high-quality patient-centered care throughout Broward County.
